Do Not Take Admission in Undergraduate Degree Programmes Involving Clinical Applications
Students were advised not to apply for admission to degree programmes incorporating clinical applications in a student advisory published by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in Islamabad. These degree programmes are available in the area of Allied Health science. For the benefit of students and their parents, all universities have been told not to offer undergraduate degree programmes that include clinical applications without proper authorization from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
HEC is extremely concerned about the fact that some universities have started certificate and degree programmes in fields having clinical applications without seeking advice from HEC or the relevant professional organisations.
Degree Programs involving clinical applications
As per HEC, degree programs involving clinical applications include, but are not limited to:
- Dermal Sciences
- Hemodialysis and
- Neurophysiology etc at the undergraduate level.
Universities are advised not to admit students to undergraduate diploma and degree programmes in the mentioned disciplines unless approved by HEC and to halt all current operations in this area with immediate effect in order to protect the academic careers and employment prospects of the students.
The degrees offered in contravention of this guideline shall not be verified by HEC.
