USAID TALENT HUNT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The USAID-funded Merit and Needs Based Scholarship Program created the Talent Hunt Program (THP) to support and prepare gifted female students from low-income families who want to pursue higher education but are unable to do so due to a lack of funds for the professional entry test preparation workshops.
The goal of this USAID effort is to identify talented female students with outstanding Matriculation and FA/FSc results early on and invest in them by providing entry exam preparation workshops for their admission to Pakistani general, engineering, and medical colleges. On the HEC website, applications can be filed electronically. The application deadline is August 24, 2022.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- The applicant must be an AJ&K or Pakistani national.
- Applicants must be from low income family.
- Must have obtained at least 80% in the Engineering, Medical, and Computer Sciences Group in Intermediate (12 Years) and at least 70% in the Social, General Science, and Art & Humanities Group in Intermediate (12 Years).
- Students with varied abilities who are female will be given special consideration.
PROCESS OF SHORTLISTING:
- The HEC Committee will examine the application to evaluate the applicant’s eligibility.
- Academic records and the program’s needs-based criteria will be used to create a merit list.
- Top candidates will receive offer letters based on slots that are available.
